Karting North East Boasts Victory...
The very first National Karting Elite league was held
last weekend at the North East Circuit, Teesside Autodrome. This initiative
is aimed at creating a national league with circuits throughout the UK
entering teams and competing at various venues. Over 25 of the top UK
circuits were represented and competed in 3 events; team sprint, individual
and a team endurance race.
The three local drivers selected to represent Karting
North East won every trophy available proving that our local drivers are
amongst the best in the country. Well done to Tim Knox, Jay Taylor and
Eliott Cotton who were clear winners of the morning sprint series. Jay
Taylor was the comfortable winner of the individual race before the team
notched up a hat trick by winning the 3 hour team endurance by almost
a full lap!
This was a superb performance bearing in mind some
of the Country's top drivers were competing and is a clear signal that
we will be the dominant force once the league gets underway early in 2012.
